Japan Travel Diary: Day 1, Experiencing the City of Osaka

My journey to Japan began with an evening flight. Originally scheduled for 16:56, my flight was delayed to 19:40. As it was a low-cost carrier (LCC), delays were expected, but it wasn’t until almost 11 PM that I finally left the airport. On the way to the hotel, I was captivated by the stunning nightscape of Osaka. The city's sparkling lights and vibrant atmosphere instantly lifted my spirits, making me eager to explore.

The next morning, I started my day with a hearty breakfast at a nearby restaurant, enjoying some delicious beef tongue. The tender and flavorful meat was the perfect way to kick off my first full day in Osaka.

My first stop was the Pokémon Center at Daimaru Umeda Department Store. I was thrilled to see the giant Pokémon statues and couldn't resist taking some photos. The center was filled with nostalgic items and exclusive merchandise that took me back to my childhood. Next, I headed to Dotonbori, where I experienced Japan's famous "Purikura" photo booths with my sister. These booths enhance your eyes and make you look like a cute doll, and the results were quite impressive. It was a fun and memorable experience that we both enjoyed.

After a brief rest back at the hotel, we ventured out again. On our way, we visited Lawson and 7-Eleven to grab some yakisoba and tendon. Surprisingly, the convenience store food was incredibly tasty and exceeded our expectations.

In the evening, we returned to Dotonbori. As the night fell, the area became more crowded, especially around the famous Glico sign. We had already taken our photos earlier, so we could leisurely enjoy the bustling atmosphere and even mimicked the Glico pose for fun.

We explored several spots and ended the night by purchasing some mochi from a renowned ichigo mochi shop. Exhausted but content, we headed back to the hotel. This day gave me a fantastic  glimpse into the vibrant life of Osaka. I look forward to sharing more of my adventures with you all. Stay tuned for more exciting experiences!
